Guess I really need to get in shape and start biking

I love walking, my little way of ensuring that I have calorie expenditure, to make up for the yummy food I eat everyday. In a book by Naomi Moriyama entitled Japanese Women Don't Get Fat or Old, it was written that aside from eating healthy, Japanese women walk walk walk walk...at least 10,000 steps a day. On a not so sunny afternoon, whenever I have the chance to go home early (which do not happen very often) I walk.. approximately for an hour on my way home. I take a jeepney ride after, tired and sweaty, but feeling very fit and accomplished. Smog and smoke aside, I feel I am doing myself a favor by trying to be healthy.

Two weeks ago, a friend of mine has started to ride his bike off road. Which got me turning green with envy. I want to bike too... more so  now. when there are no longer any options to take for me to be able to get somewhere.
  • Take a cab? I think that is a thing of the past for me, after the fare increase without any salary hike. If I take a cab everyday to work, I might as well just quit my job because all that my company will be giving me as compensation will directly go to the taxi-driving community.
  • Drive my own car? I don't drive, but even if I do, I wouldn't dare. After a couple of car nap victims missing for a few days and being found burnt beyond recognition? I wouldn't want to be the next one, I can wait for summer to get a better tan.
  • take a bus ride?Maybe not after hearing the news about a passenger bus exploding in the middle of EDSA earlier this afternoon! Leaving 4 people dead and 14 injured.
I think I am left with just 2 options, to bike or to walk.

I really do hope the government does something about this, and not just be contented with reminding the public to be vigilant and be careful. I don't need to be reminded to take care, it is inherent, basic survival. But how the hell would I protect my self from exploding buses?

Just a thought. I am so open to suggestions.

Ann Ray badly needs you're help on how to loose weight

Sad but true.there has been quite a few times when the status post of my friends on facebook sounded okay but in reality is a grammatical mess.  Again, i am no english language sensei, my grammar also needs a little polishing at times, but the following items is beyond what i consider acceptable.  So i made a trip to http://www.elearnenglishlanguage.com to be able to explain the differences between homophones normally seen on facebook status updates.
  • YOUR AND YOU'RE
Your is the second person possessive adjective, used to describe something as belonging to you. Your is nearly always followed by a noun.
examples: I saw your new boyfriend.
Your pet dog is so cute.
Your classes will begin next Monday.
You're is the contraction of "you are" and is often followed by the present participle (verb form ending in -ing).
examples:You're not the only one suffering.
               I can't believe you're getting married!
               Call me when you're ready.

  • LOOSE AND LOSE
Loose is an adjective, the opposite of tight or contained.
Examples:Teenagers nowadays are no longer fond of loose clothing.
The dentist saw my loose tooth

Lose is a verb that means to suffer the loss of, to miss.
Examples:I am confident that our teame will not lose tonight.
Defeat is not  reason to lose hope.

The above mentioned homophones are just two of the most commonly misused words I see. I would have written more, like advice and advise, in,on and at.....but  I just realized that I have been reporting for duty of 14 straight days and I was given a restday so I can relax and recharge...not stay up late and create blogposts.

Me in Japan... time for pictures

Most of the time I was in Japan was spent inside a training room, that's the reason why I was sent there in the first place.  But to be with Sir Eric, who is a photography enthusiast, photos should be aplenty. Here are some of them:

Our instructor Nana-san was kind enough to bring us to Tokyo. She served as our tour guide.  We saw the Emperor's Palace, but it was already late so we did not see much, we had a glimpse of the Tokyo Tower and saw the nice illumination.  It was so cold that night, I even borrowed Sir Jovy's scarf.

our train ride to Tokyo!

we are not trying to be cute... it really was  chilly that night.

Not only did Nana-san gave us a walking tour of Tokyo, she also treated us to dinner!  I love salmon and ate grilled salmon in this place. yumyum!

Aside from this trip to Tokyo, most of my other photos were shot from the airport or from our hotel. Here are some of them:

On our way to the ANA sky center.  ANA's world class training center.

while waiting for our access pass to be released...very comfy couch and coffee vending machines nearby... love it!
U for Uniqlo, a clothing shop located at the Airport Mall, this shop is owned by the richest person in Japan!

 a test shot
at bus stop 16. waiting for our shuttle back to the hotel.
The following shots were taken outside our hotel. We woke up a little earlier than usual for us to be able to do an outdoor photoshoot with the sun still shining!
