FOODIE FRIDAY : Jameson's Gelato

Went to the Great Luxe Sale last June 1 at SMX. Got me 2 dresses, an insulated lunch kit, a few pairs of boxer shorts and a new sweet favorite. I saw this:

At the corner of the bazaar was a freezer and a beside it a stall that was selling fresh lemonade. I am not a huge fan of ice cream, but since they were offering free samples, I went to try it. I was with my cousin and each got a tiny ice cream sample. He tried the lemon, I tried the cappuccino. The lemon was really nice, but I opted to buy the pistachio. It was soooo good. I felt like I was eating pistachio nuts from the shell itself. It was so creamy and with just the right amount of sweetness. I kept saying "ang sarap" with every little scoop I ate.

We stayed in the bazaar area for a little over 3 hours, not because there was a huge selection, but because we were waiting for my cousin's mom who will pay for the thing he needed to buy. When I learned that we were about to leave, I rushed to Jameson's corner again. I told myself I would not leave the place without having another serving.

The guys manning the booth were kind enough to let me sample almost all the flavors! I bought 1 scoop of the white one with chocolate swirls ( i asked what it is called but it was something I can not pronounce) and 1 scoop of cappuccino.

Each scoop costs 100 pesos, looking back now, of all the items I purchased that day, it was the ice cream that was the priciest. But I am not complaining, it was worth it! Just found out now that they have a branch in Robinson's Otis.

Now excuse me while I try to google where Otis is.

wedding blues

I am heart-broken... my crush just got married.

Having worked in the airport, I have had the chance to see different showbiz personalities... both foreign and local, but I only had my photo taken with Mr. Richard Poon... my ultimate showbiz crush, tall, chinito and flawless complexion, not to mention his swoon-worthy voice. For those of you who still do not know him.. get a glimpse of his cuteness:

photo grabbed from starmometer.com

and here he is with his lovely wife ... (sniff sniff)

Great catch Maricar... I am hopeful that I too can find someone who will make me feel that I am "worth a lot"and I will keep what you said in mind... to quote" You know, you can set your standards high and trust that God will give you that standard. "

candy crush and me

By now, those who has taken time to read my posts probably have an idea that I spend roughly 3.5 hours traveling to and from work, approximately 9 hours inside the office, an hour in the pantry,1.5 hours grooming myself, more or less 6 hours of sleep, and the rest is spent online while I simultaneously watch TV. A typical day for me. Basically 4 hours online spent on social networking sites... staying connected with relatives abroad, chatting and catching up with friends, looking at photos, cyber-stalking and playing games.

I think I do have time to blog more often that I have been doing so, but truth to be said, this has taken most of my online time :

CANDY CRUSH!

I have been addicted to this game since the start of the year... so much that I even gave it up for 40 days as my Lenten sacrifice. I watched in terror as one by one, my friends passed by my level. Come Easter Sunday, I think I jumped higher than any Easter bunny as I clicked open my Candy Crush application.

Believe it or not, I have quite a few life lessons that I learned by playing Candy Crush.

  • Everything in life starts easy, as we travel through, things get a little harder. We need to know what the problem is for us to be able to succeed, and more often than not, it is always wiser to step back and see the bigger picture before we even take our first step.
  • Luck plays a big role. There will times when it will seem like there is no possible way to accomplish something, but out of nowhere,  something or someone will come along to help us.
  • There will always be super hard times, and would feel like giving up is the only option, but we need to look back at how far we have come and get inspiration from those who have hurdled the same difficulties.
  • No matter how great we strategize, or how lucky we are or how we are just simply awesome and beyond words great... we still need friends to go forward... the game just proves that no man is an island.
  • Chocolates are nice. A few of them is manageable, but once they get out of hand, that is when real trouble begins.
  • Lastly, there will really be times that we will fail, but as long as we are alive, or as long as we have friends who can help us in our lives... we can always always ....

try again after a broken heart! :)

See! It is not just a game... I can go on all day enumerating Candy Crush things I can relate to everyday life... But I really need to go finish level 254.
